1 What is Karuna... The compassion?

Ans: Its a NGO Founded by a group of young people.
2 Is Karuna... The compassion register with the Government ?
Ans: Not yet but we are in the process of regestering it and it will be done very soon.
3 What all we have done ?

Ans: Till now we have Organize three events.

Dear friends,
I am Rahul Kumar Singh.
I would like to share something about our NGO, Karuna, The Compassion. Karuna was started on 10th Jan 2010. Those who were in North India in the month of January would remember that it was a very cold month. It was especially hard on the homeless people. They suffered a lot. Many died - mostly children and the elderly. Many NGO’s came forward to help these people. But because of the immensity of the problem, they could not help everyone. This made us sad and got us thinking. We as a small team planned to distribute some blankets to the poorest. We floated this idea in Intellicom (our Office). To our surprise, it was received well. We named it as ‘Cold Relief Fund’. Eventually it became a big success.
However, it was just a start. We wanted to do more especially because we became more aware of the suffering of the poor. Once again we got a good support from the people of Intellicom. We distributed rice and ORS packets to the needy people and we called it as ‘Food for Cause and ORS Awareness Campaign’. It was held on 14th February and was a satisfactory experience on that V-Day. Whatever we have done so far was done with proper research. We were able to implement all this only because of your generous support..

In the future, Karuna hopes to widen its service for the welfare of the people. I would like to put forth some objectives –

1. Emancipation of below poverty line people by providing them health and education centers.
2. Awareness campaign on cancer, TB, Blood donation RTT act 05.
3. Education of Women.
4. Child Labour.

5 Support a child in an orphanage
6 Sponsor medicines for an orphan
7Support construction of a house for a family

8 Educational support to a street child
9 Sponsor a child for a year
10 Sponsor vocational training (Desk Top Publishing) of an orphan
11 Educational sponsorship of a child

I would like to end with an appeal. We spend a lot of time and a lot of money for entertainment. What is wrong in spending a little of our time and money to show our love and concern for the poorest among us? Many a times, what is little to us, impacts their lives in a big way. I can assure you that serving these people will surely give some purpose in our lives.
